After an image-reverse search, the image source is likely a Shutterstock photo of a location called the "Seven Sisters Cliffs" located in Seven Sisters, East Sussex. It is a very striking image without context, so the writing prompt and image immediately hit me as "Planetary Continent" or "a Chunk of Earth"... so my brain went to "what could cause chunks of Earth to go flying into space? And who is remembering it?" and the writing kind of took off from there.
